Time has flown too fast
Painting the memories of the past
The days keep moving like the tides
And the sorrows never leave my side
I hear you calling out my name
Far off and then it slowly fades
When all I needed was you to be there
The thoughts within that I wanted to share
You left me here fighting my cries
Broken in pieces now I’m living this life
You hugged me in sad times
It was like the rain falling from the skies
You taught me how to rise
And overcome the setbacks in life
You made me smile
You were my safest place to hide
When all I needed was you to be by my side
Help me through the intense emotions hidden inside
You left me here fighting my cries
Broken in pieces now I’m living this life
The times have changed
But I still turn back to see your face
The feelings are lost
And the happiness still evades
All I can do is wear a fake smile
And walk through the blinding lights
Deep inside the reality shuts me down
The best in me is now nowhere to be found
I still turn the pages of those times
