Painted words like a fallen curse
Sun gives in to the dawn of the dusk
See yourself riding through
On the words of piercing truth

A thunderstorm breaks the skies
Heavens roar eclipsing the light
Flashes go by, blinding sight
And the wounds cut through, deep inside

Holding onto the edge, yet far gone
You’re stuck in the impasse with destruction all around

The world shakes beneath your feet
Tired of that incomplete sleep
Concentration still alive in those eyes
Crimson flows beside with piercing cries

Waiting for that comforting call
War denies the peace you longed for
Believing one day this world would shine
Across the barriers, only smiles will ride

Holding onto the edge, yet far gone
You’re stuck in the impasse with destruction all around
