I was walking down the street
of fading memories
It was cold and white
from the snowfall last night
Then a restaurant came by
where we had coffee the very last time
I was looking into your eyes
they were beautiful and wild
We were so lost in love
and were ready to submerge
You were trembling with fear
for the future that was unclear
We confessed our feelings together
but then in a minute, it was over

I saw you taken away
and I couldn’t hold on
I tried to reach you
but you never picked up my call
The hurt and pain clouded me
but I knew the reason behind our fall
It was not your fault
and the stars wanted to shine in another world

It all looked to be dark
and my heart could not stop bleeding from the scars
But I had to move on
because you had come along so far
I had to make a restart
for life is not about living in the past
I had to let go after all this time
to embrace the warmth of sunshine
Hope you are smiling somewhere out there today
For that’s what I always wanted to last along the way
