Lost in time: My Own Mistake

So many years have gone by
I still hold onto those thoughts tight
Never wanted to be here all alone
Pushed you out and hurt you through

Just when I thought we had come so far
You were gone leaving me torn apart
Wish I could go back and make it right
But I’m just lost in time

Finding ways to break free
The winds walk over and crush me
The smiles are now lost somewhere deep
Come back and help me breathe

Standing by your side the world seemed right
And the hurdles were just too weak to fight
I wasted so much to keep myself in this fray
When all I wanted was to make your tears go away

I’ve learned from my mistakes
I want us to go back the same way
But I guess its too late now to turn back
I’ve got to step aside and accept the fact

Hope you’re smiling somewhere
This life, I no more care
I still want to hold you tight
And I’m just lost in time
