Curse, the immortal drink
Binds me to the heartless world

A hope to humanity I thought I was
But was carved as an object of hurt

The day I opened my eyes
I knew the end was my starting rhyme

Tears and pain accompanied my innocence
Chivalry was obsolete in every corner and in every sense

Discipline was camouflage in the name of anarchy
My silence was my prodigy of an eternal misery

The world was a lockdown like a curfewed night
I was adorned with all the hate and spite

Dust of the foot, I was treated as
My mother told me that’s a cruel fact

I was seen as an object of lust and pity
Fighting, an option to destroy my sanctity

Barred from the society, I lived the taboo and curse
Even the gods were incapable to erase this dearth

That day it rained so hard and Gods cried
The thunderbolts and tremors both showed their might

The demons danced on the sacred earth
The pain and screams, no one heard

The laughs were barbaric to the core
There was no remorse and guilt to behold

The mercy was not a word to comprehend
Abandoned and hated, I had to pretend

The darkness shadowed the light
I was a picture burnt by a fake might

There was no-one by my side to help this foil
I had to hide my appearance and my inner turmoil

Was I a human or a tamed animal?
Was I a daughter or an object liable?

I was the seed to produce life
I was the mother to nurture and sacrifice

Your dominance was your arrogance to win this fight
But you’ve lost the battle of conscience and respite

One day the realization will strike the chord
The world would be barren and you’ll thrive alone

Maybe you can dominate all the things in this life
but, the lack of love and affection will take away your smile

You don’t know the meaning of dejection and pain
It’s time for you to hang your head in shame

Now, that I close my dreary eyes
Wonder if the curse will still be my companion in paradise?

Patriarchy is still dominant in many parts of our country. The worst is that many people support it in all its aspects of rigid and partial stands.

This is one of the most beautiful, albeit serious poems I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Hats off to you!
