Friendship: The Bond

Let there be no regrets
while the hope dies in distress,
let there be a reason to hear
when you choke on the past,
and wait for it to heal.

Another day,
you wake up,
and the sunshine
holds you tight,
but you still cling
onto the same night.

Your sacrifice
is not going to go in vain,
you need to be strong,
and let it all disappear.

If you feel like talking,
I’m just a call away.
If you feel like falling,
I’ll be standing, come what may.

I can’t see
tears in your eyes,
my friend,
you keep that smile,
all the time.

I know we are miles apart,
but,
I need you to share
your deepest hurt.

I know it is difficult
to stare right in the eye,
but,
you gotta believe
in the trust
we built over time.

A bond so strong
I want to create,
I can fight with this world,
and keep you safe.

I don’t believe
in what they say,
and,
I need you to do the same.

I need you to be alright,
destroy the chains you hide.

If you feel lonely,
I’m a call away.
If you feel down,
just hold onto me.

I can’t see you cold and deprived,
my friend,
you keep that smile, all the time!!
